“We at the central agency have determined that some of your tools are old and need to be taken out of use.”
“Well, I still use these tools”
“All your tools have been removed. Thank you.”
“Um...all my tools?! Where did all my tools go?”
“¯\_()_/¯”
“okay...”
This just happened to me this morning. All my adobe products vanished off my computer last night. They emailed me a few weeks ago and said I need to remove some legacy adobe stuff (for licensing purposes) and then when I got to work this morning I was greeted with the proverbial cleaned out shop....nothing. No Adobe. Nice. So much for being productive today!

I’d ask if we could expect some photoshops, but I guess that’s not going to be possible.
so, MSpaint-shops?

That’s why I avoid products with DRM.

Is this on your personal computer or a work one?

So are they giving you newer versions?

That’s the theory. Which is lovely since I have a whole bunch of plugins and specific layouts that are all going bye bye.

How tragic that you through no fault of your own can’t get anything done and such.

I myself am between nightmare projects and have little to nothing to work on until some customer communiques are in - and I only have one rainy day side project that I really don’t want to do and would be better done if some other things happen first. Time to go get a burger, sez I.

If I were you I’d start working on my resume.

I recently got upgrade from CS4 to Creative Cloud. Some of it is better, some of it is worse. All of it is a PITA to switch to.

CC was great and i generally liked almost all of it, but the IT guy skunked me and is now giving me a “this is clearly your fault and nuts to you” attitude regarding helping my fix it. my 4 years at this company have been a nonstop fight with IT

Your fault that they nabbed your software?
![]() 02/09/2016 at 13:44 |

yes, i should have responded more clearly to the email that said they wanted my old software but not that they were pushing new software on me... and for trying to go back to a restore point before they screwed me over because restore points are “problematic”

Sounds like a nice dude.

this is typical large corp. IT guy attitude, im not saying I blame him, but the company is supposed to be built on doing what it takes to do the right thing, not “screw you cause of a technicality”.

At least there's that upside. Adobe isn't really known for making people happy, so it could be worse.

I’ve still got CS6 and CC running.
My biggest complaint is the removal of contact sheet output in bridge.
Now I have to do an annoying tedious process in Photoshop to output them.
Real pain in the ass when it used to be super simple. Thanks OBAMA ADOBE

I’m annoyed by the fact that they have NEVER done anything to improve the graphing function in Illustrator. That’s what I use it for 95% of the time and it is so tedious.

Hmm. Never tried it. You can do some fun stuff in illustrator though
